Skopsko Beer
The golden beer that has defined Macedonian summers since 1924.
An eveningMacedonia's Iconic Lager
What is it?
Skopsko is Macedonia's most famous beer — a crisp, golden lager brewed by Pivara Skopje since 1924. It's more than a beer: it's a symbol of Macedonian identity. Every terrace, every kafana, every sunset along the Vardar has a Skopsko on the table. The ritual is simple: find a terrace in Debar Maalo or along the riverfront, order a cold Skopsko on draft, and watch the city slow down as the sun sets behind Vodno mountain.
Why go?
You haven't truly been to Skopje until you've had a cold Skopsko on a terrace at golden hour. Head to Debar Maalo — the city's liveliest neighbourhood — and pick any café with outdoor seating. The beer is better on draft, and the company of Skopjans makes it unforgettable.
Skopsko is so central to Macedonian culture that the phrase "Ajde na edno Skopsko" (Let's go for a Skopsko) is the Macedonian way of saying "Let's catch up." It's not about the beer — it's about the company.
Golden hour on a summer evening, on any terrace in Debar Maalo. But honestly, any time is Skopsko time.
Who is it for?
History & background
Pivara Skopje (Skopje Brewery) was founded in 1924, making it one of the oldest continuously operating breweries in the Balkans. Skopsko survived wars, earthquakes, and political upheaval — much like the city itself. The brewery weathered the devastating 1963 earthquake and rebuilt, just as Skopje did. Today Skopsko is synonymous with Macedonian identity: it sponsors football, music festivals, and is the unofficial drink of every Macedonian gathering.
Practical information
Available in every bar, restaurant, and shop in Skopje. On draft: €1–1.50 in most bars. Best enjoyed on a terrace in Debar Maalo, along the Vardar riverfront, or at City Park. Ask for "točeno" (draft) for the freshest taste.

KARPINO — Cradle of Energy
Massage · Physiotherapy · Beauty
KARPINO is Skopje's premier massage and beauty studio, nestled in the city centre just steps from Macedonia Square. The name itself — "karpino" means rock in Macedonian — channels the ancient geological energy of Macedonia's stone landscapes into a modern wellness sanctuary. The studio's signature aesthetic: warm amber-lit vertical slatted walls that evoke the glow of ancient caves, combined with precision-crafted treatments that restore body and spirit.

Stone Bridge
The Icon of Skopje
The Stone Bridge (Камен Мост) is Skopje's most iconic landmark — a 15th-century stone bridge stretching 214 metres across the Vardar River with 12 graceful semicircular arches. It forms the symbolic boundary between the modern city centre and the ancient Old Bazaar (Čaršija), and has stood as a testament to Macedonian resilience for six centuries.

Kale Fortress
Guardian of Skopje for 2,000 Years
Perched on a hill overlooking the entire Skopje valley, Kale Fortress is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Balkans. Human habitation here dates back to 4000 BC — long before recorded history. The current Byzantine-era walls look out over the ancient Church of St. Spas below.
